On July 31, Stage 3 of the 2026 PostNord Tour of Denmark delivered the race's decisive Queen Stage. Covering 202.9 kilometers from Fredericia to Vejle, the demanding route featured multiple climbs and the iconic finishing circuit in Vejle. Combined with rainy conditions and slippery roads, the stage proved to be the key battleground for the general classification.
An early breakaway established itself shortly after the start as several teams looked to seize the initiative. However, as the race entered its second half, race leader Visma | Lease a Bike gradually took control of the peloton, increasing the pace and steadily reeling in the escapees. Once the riders reached the Vejle finishing circuit, a succession of steep climbs and technical corners split the bunch, with many pure sprinters losing contact. The Queen Stage ultimately turned into a showdown between the race's strongest all-rounders and general classification contenders.
Following the final climb, Wout van Aert once again demonstrated his outstanding all-round ability. Launching a long-range sprint in the final meters, he powered to his third consecutive stage victory of this year's Tour of Denmark. Lukáš Kubiš finished second, while Christophe Laporte completed the podium in third. With another impressive win, Van Aert further extended his lead in the general classification, allowing Visma | Lease a Bike to tighten its grip on the race heading into the final two stages.

For Stage 3, Luca Cretti crossed the line in 46th place, while Márton Dina finished 51st, with both riders remaining in contention in the overall classification. Samuele Zoccarato secured 58th place, Christian Bagatin finished 122nd, and Márk Valent came home in 135th. The team completed the stage as a unit, demonstrating solid teamwork, resilience, and professionalism under challenging racing conditions.
With Stage 3 completed, the 2026 PostNord Tour of Denmark now enters its final two days. Although the battle for the overall classification has begun to take shape, the fight for stage victories, sprint points, and team honors remains wide open.
