Scheduled for June 13–14, 2026, the newly established elite road race Copenhagen Sprint returns to Copenhagen and Roskilde. A fast-growing addition to the UCI WorldTour calendar, this sprint-focused event has quickly become a standout fixture of the professional cycling summer season.
The women’s race kicks off on June 13, followed by the men’s competition on June 14. Riders depart from Stændertorvet Square in downtown Roskilde and finish right in front of the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen.

Race Route: All-Flat High-Speed Showdown
Tailored specifically for elite sprinters, Copenhagen Sprint features predominantly flat terrain.
The women’s race covers roughly 156km, wrapping up with three laps around central Copenhagen. The men’s route stretches 228.2km, concluding with five urban finishing circuits. Built on wide arterial roads and city avenues with minimal climbing, the race is almost always decided by a large-group bunch sprint.
The course cuts across northern Zealand, passing iconic northern Zealand towns including Hillerød, Fredensborg and Humlebæk. Technical bends on the closing Copenhagen laps add extra excitement to the high-tempo racing. For competing squads, the event turns into a head-to-head contest between sprinters alongside a tactical battle over lead-out train coordination and final positioning.

Key Pre-Tour de France Warm-Up
Held concurrent to the Tour de Suisse and just weeks ahead of the Tour de France, Copenhagen Sprint draws top global sprinters fine-tuning form ahead of cycling’s biggest grand tour.
Its fast pace and moderate technical difficulty make it ideal for teams to polish their lead-out setups, serving as invaluable real-world practice for riders targeting flat-stage victories at the Tour de France. Supported by solid event management and Denmark’s rich cycling heritage, the fixture is now a staple in teams’ pre-summer race preparation schedules.

Denmark, a Nation of Cycling, Welcomes Global Spotlight
Ever since Denmark hosted the 2022 Tour de France Grand Départ, the country has cemented its status as a key host destination for top-tier international road cycling.
As a UCI WorldTour event, Copenhagen Sprint also fuels local cycling promotion across Denmark. Around 250,000 spectators lined the route for the inaugural edition, with organisers aiming to develop it into an iconic Nordic classic and boost Denmark’s standing in global cycling.
From Roskilde’s fjords to Copenhagen’s city streets, this high-octane sprint spectacle embodies the passion for cycling across Scandinavia each summer.
